We are searching for a Senior Project Manager/Engineer CNG/LNG for our Pittsburgh, PA or Houston, TX location. We seek a candidate who will act as a senior project manager, engineer, and market sector leader to support the development of our growing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) business lines. We expect this candidate to work with our current technical staff to support our existing backlog and develop new business in this emerging sector.
The successful candidate will provide direction and guidance to staff engineers and designers to complete complex projects and scopes of work for transportation, industrial and energy projects. This work will be in accordance with purchase order requirements or contracts including developing project plans, providing technical direction and scheduling and will involve interfacing with Client Project Managers, government regulators and officials, other contractors and representatives. The candidate will be required to oversee other technical design staff and participate in the project management, design, approval and validation of project activities including piping, gas & liquid storage mechanical, electrical, civil and engineering. The candidate will also participate in client marketing presentations, proposal and scope of work preparation and related contract/project documentation preparation; be involved in the application of engineering fundamentals, engineering design and construction of those designs; select and/or recommend procedures in design and prepare preliminary designs for the engineer’s approval; work independently on design projects in support of design engineer and may coordinate or direct drafting efforts; function as lead designer; identify new clients, business development, manage these client relationships, and develop specific work programs for these clients.
Job Requirements :
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum, Engineering is required. A minimum of 10 to 15 years of related experience including detailed knowledge of oil and gas industry and mechanical standards is strongly preferred; PE or similar certification is strongly preferred. A Master’s Degree and/or Ph.D. are preferred. The ideal candidate will have natural gas processing, CNG/LNG, cryogenics, and Gas to Liquids (GTL) experience in the transportation and import/export sectors. The candidate should be familiar with and have experience working with clean energy, CNG/LNG developers, consultants, and investors. Additionally, the successful candidate will be experienced in the participation in the preparation of subcontractor procurement documents for mechanical and related services as well as in the preparation of equipment and construction specifications. Experience in detailed design for construction and project commissioning and completion is a requirement. The candidate must have experience in pipe stress and pipe flow software packages. Knowledge of CFR 192 and 195 Design Code from the Federal Design Requirement for DOT Pipelines, liquid and gas helpful as well as an understanding of API, DOT Tank regulations of 650 and 653 is required. The successful candidate will be experienced in technical supervision and management, staff personnel oversight and professional development and training of subordinates. The candidate should have strong experience as a process engineer developing process flow and working with high psi compressors, flow rates, pumps and pump rates, gas and liquefied gas storage, PNID, and associated codes.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated entrepreneur who currently manages and has a proven record of building and diversifying an operation with commercial and public as well as international customers while managing the growth and delivery of quality products and financial results. An established client base is strongly preferred. Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, analytical, financial, and mathematical skills are essential. A passion to work for a team-oriented company that values leadership, empowerment, flexibility, and an entrepreneurial spirit is required.
The candidate should be proficient with MS Office package (e.g., Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and have a strong familiarity with 2D and 3D design software. Autodesk CAD CADWorx 3D, Plant and/or PNID is desired. Candidate must be able and available for travel via land and/or air and possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.
